Short, Assorted, Live

Just wanted to share some side projects that I do as part of larger assignments.

Project 1

This tool lets you search all the articles written by Guardian since 1803. So you can see when something or someone became news for the first time, when did they become very popular and so on. The project relies on Guardian API for articles. It can also be viewed on mobile.

Project 2

A tool to quickly access all the articles ever published by NYT. It uses the NYT Archive API. This project was done as part of a larger assignment in which I was working with the most important stories of the 20th century. NYT, Guardian and many other news publications open their archives through well documented APIs. The objective of this tool was to help me quickly make several queries and navigate through 1000s of articles that come back as a result.

Project3

This is a fun little game I made as I was playing with Leaflet.js and understanding how to use maps in the web. The idea is to set and restrict the zoom level of the map to very high and ask users to guess where they are. The experience is almost like touching something and guessing what is it.

You can play the game here: https://kshivanku.github.io/sotu/#
